The Necrons Empty
PostSubject: The Necrons   The Necrons EmptySun Nov 25, 2007 7:49 pm

In the days before man, when even the ancient Eldar had yet to grace the galaxy with their presence, there were the Necrontyr. Their planet was close to an angry sun, and they lived nasty, short, and brutish lives among the massive tombs of the dead before them. Every Necrontyr knew that there were but 30 short years in their life (on average) to complete whatever goals that might be set. They discovered The Old Ones, and went to war, incredibly angry at their century-long lifespan.

They were pushed back as one would swat a fly, due to The Old Ones vastly better maneuverability. They turned back to their research, desperate to find some new weapon to give them an edge on the insufferable Old Ones. The product of this frenzied search were the Star Gods, or C'Tan. Beings without mortal comparisons, intelligent beyond measure, and ably to bend reality around their fingers, the Necrontyr were able to gain an advantage over The Old Ones, which started "The war in Heaven", as told by the (then) newly created Eldar.

The Necrontyr worshiped the C'Tan as the gods they rightfully were. The C'Tan had noticed their servant's short lifespan, they offered to give them immortality for their continued worship. Many, no, Most of the Necrontyr jumped at the prospect of giving up the cancerous, pathetically short life they had lead for ages, but a few of the wiser ones held back, knowing there was a catch somewhere. The majority turned to an angry mob at the prospect that a few could rob them of this precious deific gift. As the C'Tan looked down, those who were unsure were forced through the process by those who had unshakable faith, who followed behind them.

Those who had held back were indeed wise in their assumption of a catch. With eternal life came eternal service. The very souls of the Necrontyr had been stripped, their life forces powering Living Metal bodies, wield terrible gauss weaponry, devoid of life. The Necrontyr race had died out, at long last, being replaced by the Necrons. Or so were the true believers. The C'Tan known as The Deceiver had special plans for those who would refuse their gods. Rather than strip their souls, he 'merely' removed their ability to control their bodies. They could still think, still see, still feel the blood of those who were being slaughtered by their own hands run down their arms, across their mouths, covering them in a shower of horror. The only was they could make any sort of action was my crying tears of "blood", which stained the white skull of their new bodies in different patterns for each to the Necrontyr, for they alone could still remember the stories of their race.

The "Bleeding Skull" Legion slept with the rest of the Necrons for approximately 65 million years, waiting for the 'Enslaver plague' to pass over, and let the 'Young Races' grow strong again. They were awakened by their patron, The Deceiver, as many of the young races congregated on their tomb world, Malachor 3. As he 'strides' through the tombs, waking up those who are ready for battle and sending to repair those are who are not, those early risers and guardians set forth to reclaim this planet for the C'Tan.

I'm guessing Ressurection Orb Veil of Darkness. The points are right.
