After that your screen should look like this

This is the main window of the 40k mod. The left part is the chat window. In it the dice results pop up. In this window you chat. Next to it(to the right) is the window with the list of games. The field ‘New game” you use in the following way: You type in it the name you desire for your game and press ‘Enter’. Your game is created.
How to join games(next picture): Right click on the game, choose ‘Join’. Then right click on the name of someone in the same game (in the rightmost window) and choose synchronize. You are now in the game.

Now, you are in the game.
To start a game do the following:
Choose ‘File - > New Game’. Then choose the kind of board you wish. Click ‘Finish’
To load a game:
Choose: ‘File - >Load game’. Choose the file. Open it. NOTE: In this way you can use the pre made maps. Just load them and have fun.

Now you have started a game.
To set up the Table(skip if you have loaded a pre made one) do the following:
Press the ‘Table’ button. This opens up the table window. Resize it and position it a way that it’s comfortable.
Press the ‘Pieces’ button. In the tab that opens, choose ‘Terrain’. Choose something from the list next to the picture(you might need to resize the Vassal window). Then click on the picture of the thing and drag and drop it on the table. To rotate the thing – Ctrl + ] or Ctrl + [ . Be careful when setting the piece up, because when you deselect it you won’t be able to modify it.
To drop miniatures on the map:
The same procedure as setting terrain, just instead of clicking on terrain, click on your army. Then do the same – drag and drop. To rotate the thing – Ctrl + ] or Ctrl + [ .
To quickly make more models of the same type, click and selectthe one you wish t oclone, then Ctrl + C and then drag it away. Voila. Two models.
To move models click and drag them around the map.
To remove models from play – just drag them offboard.

Now, what each button is for:
D6, 5d6, 10d6 – rolling the dice.
D10 – I really do not know Very Happy
Scatter check – checks if you scatter. Roll this first when you fire ordnance. If it hits, just resolve wounds. If it misses roll…
Scatter Dircetion – roll it of your ordnance does not hit. It will tell you the direction(3 o’clock for example) Then roll…
Ld/Scatter distance check – checks leadership, scatter distance.
End of(something) – these buttons are somehow useless, but whatever.
Notes: Here you can post your notes like army lists. It is simple enough.
Random Mission : Rolls for mission
Model List: List of all models on the table

Here is how a battle looks like

The shot is taken in a very crucial moment, just before the tyranid player's shooting phase when the Imperial guardsmen prepare to be overrun.
